Had such a nice dinner here. We were seated at the counter top - it was nice that they had seats on both sides. It made it much easier to talk since we were three people. The vibe on Thursday night was energetic but not too loud. Our server was really nice and gave great recommendations. We of course enjoyed the ricotta toast, and the roasted tomato appetizer was standout. We tried three different pastas - a spinach filled pasta, a circular pasta shape with tomatoes, and a fettuccine. They were all great. They have a small wine by the glass list but it's well done with some interesting picks.

We made a lunch reservation for two a month in advance and got to sit at the kitchen counter. The space is airy and it's cool to see the cooking in action. Charred marinated peppers & crostini- the ricotta didn't taste like anything, but I liked the lightness of it even though the cheese was pretty topped off. The peppers were tasty and much needed vegetable amongst all the pasta. Spinach & Mascarpone Tortelli- the first bite makes you go MMM because who doesn't like butter?! However, the brown butter kind of overpowered the rest of the ingredients, couldn't taste the spinach at all. I'd recommend selecting a pasta dish that can offset the richness of this dish so it doesn't get nauseating to eat, and you'd still want to come back for more. Corzetti- lemony, citrus aftertaste helped cut the richness from the Tortelli Pistachio gelato- salty goodness with sprinkles of nuts in almost every bite. If you savor the gelato, there's a butteriness at the end which I liked but can be heavy to others Overall, service was attentive and I would come back again if there was no wait.

As a fan of Italian cuisine, I was excited to try Misi for the first time. We decided to go for lunch and, from the moment we arrived, the experience started on a positive note. We were greeted warmly by the host and seated right on time. Our server was very sweet and attentive, and our orders for both appetizers and mains were taken promptly. Impressively, everything arrived in perfect timing. For appetizers, we ordered the charred marinated peppers with marjoram, whipped ricotta crostini, and grilled baby artichokes with mint salsa verde. Unfortunately, the charred peppers were a bit too oily for my taste, making them difficult to enjoy after just a few bites. While the crostini looked beautiful, the outer crust was so hard that it nearly scraped my palate, and the taste wasn't particularly memorable. The artichokes were another dish that didn't quite hit the mark for me. I generally prefer my artichokes to be buttery and creamy, but these were fresh, tangy, and herby--a combination that might appeal to some, but just wasn't my cup of tea. For the mains, we chose three pasta dishes: Rigatoni, Tortelli, and Occhi. Being a big fan of Rigatoni, I had high expectations, but I was disappointed to find that the pasta was undercooked and not al dente, as I would have preferred. The Tortelli, on the other hand, was a clear winner--delicious with no complaints. However, the sheep's milk ricotta-filled Occhi left me puzzled. The first bite was confusing, and even after a second try, the filling was too overpowering for my liking. Despite being a popular dish on the menu, it didn't quite resonate with me, though I usually enjoy filled pastas like ravioli and tortellini. Overall, while the ambiance and service at Misi were fantastic, the pasta was underwhelming for me personally. However, tastes are subjective, and what didn't work for me might be someone else's favorite. If you're curious, I'd still suggest giving Misi a try--you might find a dish that hits all the right notes for you.

Hard to get a reservation but call them & see if they can fit you in! We made it in with a lunch reservation. The spinach and mascarpone tortellini was the stand out. Don't leave without getting gelato for dessert...It's so delicious. It was such a treat getting to see the chefs prepare for dinner service through the kitchen window. That elevated the experience tremendously!

Made a reservation at the first seating on a weekend. There were still plenty of seats at the bar available for people who wanted to walk in. It didn't seem that busy despite the reservations filling up. During our time there, there were tables that were empy. I got their whipped ricotta crostini. At the time it was being served with peaches and olive oil. The overall dish was very mild. I wished the peaches were sweeter and had more taste because the ricotta was also mild. The bread was nicely toasted though. The sheep's milk ricotta filled occhi, bottarga, lemon was good. I liked Lilia's sheep milk pasta better, mainly for the sauce. However, the acidity of the lemon contrasted nicely with the richer sheep milk. The gnocchi sardi, pork sausage sugo, saffron was okay. I thought it was quite a homey dish. However, I wasn't blown away by it. The olive oil gelato is a must. The texture was so creamy. The olive oil was prominent enough that you didn't feel that you were overwhelmed by the taste. I preferred Lilia over Misi, but overall Misi was decent.

We had a reservation for Friday lunch and were seated at the counter. The reservations are normally booked out but there were some empty tables, so I am curious if you can just walk in and be seated. The restaurant was large and had plenty of natural lighting. I was able to be seated before my friend got there, which is always appreciated! We ordered the charred marinated peppers with whipped ricotta crostini, the chitarra with braised lamb, the bucatini with nduja and san marzano tomatoes, and the olive oil gelato. Even though we were seated at the counter, the service was attentive. The peppers were really well prepared and I'm glad they came with the crostini! We probably wouldn't have ordered it on its own but since it came with the crostini we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed them. The whipped ricotta was very light and creamy, like a cloud. The bread it came on was very hard though and overall it was a bit messy to eat. My friend thought the ricotta lacked flavor, but the peppers made up for it. If I came back, I would order the dish again! The pastas were only okay. Although they were good, neither of the pastas blew us away and the bucatini had a lot of spice. The chitarra did not come with a lot of lamb. The olive oil gelato had a distinct olive oil flavor. It was light, creamy, and refreshing, but small for $9. I would come back to the restaurant, but I'm not in a rush to return since reservations are hard to get and the pasta was only okay.

This place was a delightful Brooklyn discovery. The service was warm and accommodating, adding a personal touch to the experience. The atmosphere exuded a professional kitchen vibe, which I found both charming and indicative of the culinary seriousness at play. The pasta, in particular, was exceptionally well-prepared, with the spinach tortellini deserving special praise for its impeccable execution. It's clear that a great deal of thought and care goes into every dish here. Overall, a truly wonderful spot that showcases Brooklyn's culinary prowess.

Had a lovely dinner here last night. You most definitely need a reservation. They are always full. They have a great wine selection to choose from, not too expansive. The space itself is very modern and minimalistic. To eat we got the grilled peppers and ricotta toast, the cauliflower, the sheep's milk pasta, and tbh I don't remember the name of it but one of the pastas with sausage. Both pastas were simply delicious. The sheep's milk pasta was the perfect summertime dish. I love the lemon cascara coating. The peppers and ricotta toast were amazing. The cauliflower was good but did not blow us away. Our server was very attentive and was accommodating when I mentioned my allergy. A perfect place to come for innovative, consistently good pasta!

I'm not sure how I've never gotten around to reviewing Misi. With some degree of reliability you can now snag a bar seat here later in the evening on off nights, and yet it always feels like you've lucked out. The open kitchen adds to the ambiance. I've tried most of the vegetarian options on the menu, and I always go back to the occhi and tortelli despite their somewhat comparable flavor profile, both heavy on creamy cheeses (mascarpone and ricotta). Both are exceptional pastas. I recommend skipping the much hyped ricotta crostini. It looks pretty but the dish is honestly too rich, and you're better off saving your appetite for pastas here.
